Brockway Mountain Drive is nine and a half miles long and it does not prepare you for the top. You come over and Lake Superior is laid out in every direction with nothing in it — no boats, no far shore, just water running to the horizon and forest falling away behind you. Copper Harbor sits at the bottom of the hill, the last town before the state simply ends. Men came all the way up here for what was in the rock, and some of them stayed.
Copper Point is named for that country. Warm bronzes, rich ochres, amber running underneath — the colors the Keweenaw turns in late light. No two pieces are the same and no two walls read alike.
It is the warmest blend we cut and it wants warm company. Timber frame, cedar, walnut, dark-stained trim. On a great room fireplace the bronze and amber come up in firelight in a way no gray blend can manage. Specify it where the house is meant to feel warm before the furnace is on.
