Great Lakes

Everyone who has spent time in Michigan is holding the same twenty seconds somewhere. You come over the last dune, or around the last bend, or up out of the trees, and there is open water all the way to the horizon with no far shore on it. It looks like an ocean and it is not one — you can put your face in it and drink. Sleeping Bear does it to people. So does the walk out to Fishtown, or the bridge at the Straits, or First Street in Manistee on a July evening when the whole town has come down to the water.

Great Lakes is named for all of it, because no one place would have been enough. The palette is the color of cold fresh water — cool and silvered, quiet against light siding, and against dark or natural exteriors the thing that keeps the whole elevation from going heavy.

It has outsold every other blend we make for years running, and the reason is not complicated. It does not fight anything. Traditional, transitional, modern; brick, cedar, board and batten, painted lap. When a client cannot decide, this is where they land — and they are always right.
