Big country. Big stone.

The Hiawatha runs close to a million acres across the Upper Peninsula and touches all three of the Great Lakes that matter up there. You can drive an hour through it without passing a building. When the hardwoods turn in October there is often nobody on the road to see it but you.

Hiawatha is the largest format we cut, and it is named for the largest country in Michigan. The Castle cut runs in big, dimensional, irregular pieces — old-world masonry, the kind of wall where a single stone takes two hands to set.

It carries real mass, and that cuts both ways. On a small elevation it will swallow the house. On a full chimney, a gable end, or an entry that has to feel permanent, nothing else in the collection is close. Specify it where you want the building to look like it was standing first.
